Little Schuylkill and Susquehanna Rail Road Company newspaper clippings and petition to the Philadelphia Board of Trade, 1849.

This collection consists of newspaper clippings and copies of a broadside petition requesting financial backing for a railroad connection between the Little Schuylkill and Susquehanna Rail Road Company and the New York and Erie Rail Road. The petition, addressed to the Board of Trade of the City of Philadelphia, notes that a New York Railroad would soon complete a line to the Great Lakes; it is dated Philadelphia, 18-20 January 1849. From various newspapers in the Philadelphia area, the clippings are mounted on paper, including copies of the petition, and are identified only by a handwritten date.
